BEIRUT, Lebanon, 2 April 2012 – Senior executives from Ford Motor Company and the Tewtel Group of Companies officially inaugurated today Folic Automotive’s first dealership facility for Ford and Lincoln products in Lebanon. Folic Automotive s.a.l., a member of the Tewtel Group of Companies, was announced earlier as the new exclusive importer-dealer for the Ford and Lincoln brands in Lebanon, following the recent acquisition of the franchise by the Tewtel Group of Companies.

The launch of the new Ford facility in the Lebanese capital was attended by local media and VIP guests, as well as executives from Ford Middle East.

The 13,000 sq.m. state of the art dealership is located in Ramlet Al Bayda, facing the old Spinney’s in Msaytbeh, and combines the Folic Automotive Showroom as well as a Tewtel parts and service center under one roof.

“We are thrilled to welcome Folic Automotive to the growing Ford dealer family in the Middle East and are happy to see the Tewtel family’s strong commitment to growing the Ford business in Lebanon, and ensuring that we have solid representation throughout the country,” said Hal Feder, director of Ford Motor Company’s Export Operations, who attended the ceremony.

“Our strong relationship with Folic Automotive is key to the success of our brands locally, and this new state-of-the-art facility underscores their commitment to our customers here in Lebanon,” he added.

Nadim Tewtel, president and managing director of Folic Automotive, said: “We are equally excited to be the exclusive Ford and Lincoln importer-dealers in Lebanon, and our team is geared up and ready to serve our customers. This new facility not only demonstrates the breadth of our efforts towards growing the Ford brand locally, but it is also testament to our drive to bring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and deliver the Ford ownership experience to our customers.”

Hussein Murad, Ford Middle East’s director of Sales, commented: “Our dealer network in the Middle East is second to none. We have some of the best dealer partners in the region who are fully committed to growing the business, employing some of the most qualified people in the region, to deliver a great sales and service experience to our customers. “With this new launch, and the exceptional lineup of new Ford and Lincoln products, Ford and Folic Automotive are well positioned to start a great new chapter for our customers in Lebanon. We thank the Folic Automotive team and management for this achievement and we look forward to taking our partnership from strength to strength.”

The new Folic Automotive Ford and Lincoln showroom and service center area open for business Monday thru Friday, 08:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday from 8:30am to 1:30pm. For more information, customers can call: 1292

Ford and Lincoln sales in the Middle East closed 2011 with an unprecedented 50 percent growth, at a time when the region's industry performance was relatively flat, thanks to the continued flow of segment-leading and award winning products including the all-new Ford Focus and Explorer, as well as the Figo, Fiesta, Fusion, Taurus, Mustang, and Edge crossover, that join the Lincoln MKS, MKX and the full-size crossover, MKT.

Ford has been introducing industry- and segment-exclusive features making high-end technologies available to mainstream customers at competitive prices. And the company is confident that its new generation of vehicles will prove equally popular in the Lebanese market.

“We currently offer a strong contender in almost every segment, from the B-Car Figo thru to the Explorer mid-size SUV, and the heavy duty F-Series trucks,” added Murad. “It’s more than evident that the models we currently offer are striking a chord with customers and we’re certain this trend will continue well into 2012, especially in Lebanon, as customers increasingly look to Ford as a preferred option thanks to the combination of our strong products and the efforts of our new partners, Folic Automotive.”

Investing in Customer Satisfaction
Parts delivery is a key enabler to increasing customer satisfaction, and Ford has recently taken action to address that with the opening of its Middle East Parts Distribution Centre in Dubai to improve parts availability and significantly reduce the time dealers and customers will need to wait for parts to complete vehicle service repairs.

The $53 million parts centre is Ford’s largest single investment in the region to date and its most significant service initiative ever in the Middle East. Ford’s new PDC services 11 countries and further cements Ford's commitment and presence in the region.

The all-new 2012 Ford Focus
The 2012 Ford Focus sets a new standard for small cars with an unprecedented investment in cutting-edge technologies and advanced comfort, convenience and safety features that make Focus unmatched in its class.

Previous Ford Focus models received numerous accolades for safety, driving dynamics and style, and Ford’s newest global C-car aims to repeat these successes and surpass previous benchmarks using a host of sophisticated and class-exclusive technologies developed by Ford, targeting class-leading driving quality that blends outstanding steering precision and road feedback with significantly improved refinement and ride control.

The new Focus features a standard advanced Torque Vectoring Control system, which enhances cornering stability and agility, and has typically only been available on premium sports vehicles. Also, handling, an area the Focus has always excelled in, is further boosted to give the vehicle outstanding road grip and driving dynamics thanks to the retuned and enhanced Control Blade independent rear suspension.

Combine these with the new Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) and Focus becomes a truly dynamic car to drive. EPAS delivers precise steering with a natural and confident feel as well as accurate responses at high speed, while remaining light and manageable in parking manoeuvres.

EPAS also supports Focus’ class-exclusive Active Park Assist feature, an advanced new system which automatically steers the vehicle into parallel parking spaces. The system uses two ultrasonic sensors (one on each side of the vehicle) to scan for large enough gaps between parked cars – these gaps can be just 20 percent longer than the overall vehicle length. Once a suitable gap has been identified, the driver is informed and clear parking instructions are shown in the centre console display using simple text and graphics.

Safety has always been at the core of the Focus, and for the 2012 model, Ford’s engineers have incorporated a host of technologies to continue making the model a class leading car in safety. The new Focus was named Euro NCAP’s “Best in Class” small family car in recognition of the vehicle’s crash test rating and advanced safety technology. The Focus scooped one of only five best in class awards accolades on the strength of its maximum five-star Euro NCAP rating as well as four Euro NCAP Advanced rewards last year, an achievement which is unmatched by any other high-volume car.

The driving pleasure of the new Focus is enhanced further by the range of engines available. Topping the range is the 2.0L Ti-VCT I-4 Duratec engine, but also available is the 1.6L Ti-VCT Duratec. Both power plants offer brisk performance, but their zesty character also offers outstanding fuel economy and CO2 emissions thanks to variable cam timing.

Figo, Ford's latest entry in the B-car segment, brings a smart and affordable contender to retail and fleet customers looking for a quality and value vehicle in the sub-compact segment.

Ford Figo brings great looks and styling to the highly practical and economical segment. Fiesta is equipped with a 96 PS (71 kW/95 bhp) 1.4-litre, with a choice of the Durashift 5-speed manual, or Durashift 4-speed automatic. The 1.4-litre manual achieves a fuel economy of 5.7 litres per 100 kilometres (49.6 mpg) and CO2 emissions of 147 grams per kilometre.

Key class-exclusive technologies available on Taurus include: Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®), Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning with Brake Support, MyKey™, Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion™ and many more including Ford Sync and a 12-speaker super premium Sony surround system.

Ford Mustang

Performance lovers have the choice of the 5.0-liter four-valve Ti-VCT V-8 engine that comes on the Mustang GT. The 412-hp GT achieves an EPA rating of 26 mpg on the highway when equipped with the six-speed manual, giving it the best fuel economy in its class. With the six-speed manual, the Mustang GT coupe is rated at 17 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.

Ford Edge
Ford’s popular crossover’s bold design is a guaranteed eye catcher thanks to its sporty and dynamic looks, exclusive features and technologies and class-leading powertrains.

Edge was the launch vehicle for the industry-first Ford SYNC® with MyFord Touch driver connect technology. This technology provides an intuitive, easy-to-use system for accessing a multifunction color display and infotainment color display.

In addition to delivering customer-focused technology, the new Edge also showcases Ford’s impressive drive to bring new powertrain options to the customer. Both the Edge 3.5-liter V-6 and Edge Sport 3.7-liter V-6 use advanced engine valvetrain technology (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing, or Ti-VCT) and clever control strategies to increase horsepower and torque to best-in-class levels.
